Thacher Montessori School
Pinck & Co. was engaged as OPM, at the urging of the School’s attorney, just prior to the start of construction and to the Owner’s closing on Mass Development bond financing for the 9,000 sf, 2nd story addition. Simultaneously, it was discovered that the project was required to file for a zoning variance in April 2008. We guided the Owner and the team towards a permitting and phasing strategy that enabled the work to be complete in time for the fall semester 2008, despite severe thunderstorms over the summer which threatened the schedule daily.
Head Start Facility for the Community Action Agency of Somerville
As the OPM for this project Pinck & Co took over from the prior OPM when the contractor went bankrupt during foundation construction. The owner had already decided to engage one of the subcontractors as the replacement General Contractor (who had no track record as a G.C.) and the lenders were urging the Owner to engage Pinck & Co. Furthermore the plans had been developed for a design/build approach and thus when we took over the plans were not complete for a traditional approach. Working closely with the new General Contractor we negotiated a construction contract that would satisfy the lenders and then completed the project on time and budget on a brownfield site in Somerville, MA.
Community Charter School of Cambridge

With many issues left unaddressed by the landlord in the expansion space, we expedited the resolution to neighborhood noise concerns that threatened the school’s fall semester in addition to coordinating significant unforeseen utility issues discovered just weeks before the school was to open.
