Pinck & Co. is committed to sustainable design and construction and has led numerous projects that have successfully implemented green and sustainable elements. We believe that good quality construction equals healthy construction and that green and sustainable elements are affordable and achievable.
The Fay School, Southborough (ongoing)
Pinck & Co. is serving as Owner’s Project Manager for the Campus Master Plan—a $63 million program over four years. The project includes wastewater recycling and extensive environmentally sustainable landscaping. The dormitories received LEED gold certification in spring 2010. City Year Headquarters, Boston (2009)
A 25,000 square foot tenant fit-out for the national headquarters and the Boston office. The project received LEED certification for commerical interiors in 2009.
Imani House, Dorchester (2007)
The gut rehabilitation of a Victorian wood frame building produced nine units of affordable housing for senior veterans, previously homeless. When tested Imani House achieved the best HERS results of any project to date in Massachusetts.
Boston Chinatown Neighborhood Center, Boston (2003-2005)
BCNC’s daycare, youth center, adult education and after school facility received a LEED Silver rating in 2006. With a matching grant from the Kresge Foundation, the Center chose to participate in the program well after construction, thereby making the effort particularly challenging.
Greenworks, Cambridge (2004-2005)
The 6,000 square foot office fit-out in East Cambridge for Gravestar Inc. achieved LEED certification under commercial interiors prorgam. As the Owner’s Representative, Pinck & Co. oversaw the design/build effort for this office space and also served as the LEED Accredited Professional.
Homes at Wellington Hill, Mattapan (2004-2005)
The eight units for first time homebuyers incorporated and exceeded the requirements established by the City of Boston Department of Neighborhood Development’s healthy home standards. As part of the Energy Star Homes program the units achieved HERS rating at the highest level.
Third Sector New England, Boston (2004-2005)
The 120,000 square foot redevelopment of a nine story building in the South Station area received LEED certification in 2006, under the pilot program for Corporate Interiors.
Erie Ellington, Dorchester (1999-2000)
This 50 unit residential development demonstrated that green design and construction could be implemented on an affordable housing project. Erie Ellington achieved its results and stands as one of the first affordable housing projects that successfully incorporated green and sustainable elements.
