Valentine Dining Hall, Woodland Hall Dormitories
Newton, MA

Pinck & Co. has been working with Lasell College as OPM on various projects since 2011.  We were first engaged to complete the renovation and upgrade of the Valentine Dining Hall, completed on an extremely tight schedule during the summer of 2011.  In the summers of 2013 and 2014, Pinck managed the renovation of the adjacent Woodland Hall Dormitories, which included renovations to several facilities as well as accessibility upgrades to the building as a whole.

Valentine Dining Hall:
This fast track ‘Summer Slammer’ was a gut renovation of the existing dining hall and food serving areas.  The project included changing the existing ‘production line’ approach to serving meals to implementing designated serving stations for different types of food in which kiosks were individually equipped with preparation and cooking capabilities.  The dining hall was also completely redecorated, with innovative lighting features and a variety of exciting, new interior design elements.  In addition to the dining areas, Pinck also managed the construction of two additional toilet rooms, installing a new roof, upgrading the existing HVAC system, installing a sprinkler system, construction of an outside dining terrace and relocating the campus radio station.

Woodland Hall Dormitory:
Pinck  & Co. managed the renovation and reconfiguration of this primary freshman dormitory, which was connected to Valentine Hall, over the summers of 2013 and 2014 (School breaks were utilized but the dormitory remained occupied during the school year).  The renovations included seven common toilet/shower rooms, renovation of seven individual bathrooms, the installation of an elevator, accessibility upgrades throughout the building and new flooring and finishes throughout. Infrastructure and mechanical upgrades included a new roof, a new fire sprinkler system, new boilers and air handling units, a new electric service, new lighting and upgraded electrical distribution, security upgrades and a new fire alarm system.
